Period reports

Network Rail's railway year runs thirteen four-week periods (Period 1–Period 13). This page shows which periods have journey data and links to the financial year summary.

Gauge Intelligence began ingesting national freight journey data on 23 February 2026, partway through Period 12 2025-26. Period 13 2025-26 (1–28 Mar 2026) is therefore the inaugural published period — the first rail period fully spanned by TRUST data — and the archive will build a full thirteen-period year from 2026-27 onward.

2025-26

Journey data is available for Period 13, the final period of the 2025-26 railway year. Period 12 2025-26 was a partial collection window; Period 1 through Period 11 predate the start of data collection.

Period 13 2025-26 (1–28 Mar 2026) is the inaugural published period — the first rail period fully spanned by TRUST data, which began on 23 Feb 2026; no prior-period comparator is available. * Period 12 ran 1–28 Feb 2026; data ingestion began 23 Feb 2026, so Period 12 figures here represent partial in-period collection. Cancellation figures corrected 2026-05-14; see Corrections.

Period 12 2025-26 was a partial collection period. Data ingestion started on 23 February 2026, capturing only the final days of the period. Period 13 2025-26 was the first complete period, recording 20,175 journeys across all freight operators nationally.

2026-27

The 2026-27 railway year runs from 29 March 2026 to 27 March 2027. Period reports will be published as each period closes, typically within fifteen working days.

Next publication: Period 2 2026-27 (26 Apr – 23 May 2026) final figures by 27 June 2026, after the late-activation window closes. Preliminary Period 2 reports are already published; see the listing below.
