Corrections

Last updated 28 Apr 2026

A reverse-chronological log of corrections to published Gauge Intelligence reports.

Two types of notices are published here: Corrections for errors in previously published figures, and Notices for deliberate changes that can shift published figures.

Corrections

Corrections record errors in published figures. When a correction is issued, Gauge Intelligence updates the affected publication and adds a full-provenance entry here showing what changed and why.

2026-05-14 — Cancellation rates, Period 12 + Period 13 2025-26

A CANCEL TRUST propagation bug (#352, fixed 2026-05-06) caused cancellation events to be silently dropped for journeys that had already been built. A historical backfill of the affected records ran in production on 2026-05-14 (task cancellation:backfill_propagation, deploy tag deploy-2026-05-14-1247), updating 2,217 journeys to cancelled=true.

Re-derivation of published cancellation counts against the corrected journey data produced the following revisions:

Period Prior value Corrected value Change
Period 12 2025-26 2% cancelled (529 journeys) 19% cancelled (563 journeys) +766% on count
Period 13 2025-26 1% cancelled (19,211 journeys) 10% cancelled (20,175 journeys) +942% on count

The prior figures were systematically understated because same-day CANCEL events arriving after BuildJourneyJob had already created the journey record were not propagated. The journey totals also increased modestly (Period 12: +6%, Period 13: +5%) reflecting late activations added to the window since original publication.

The corrected figures are shown in the period availability table. The error was in the ingestion pipeline, not the underlying NROD source data.

Notices

Notices record deliberate, non-error changes: methodology revisions, new data periods added, coverage expansions, and reference data reloads that shift published figures. Unlike corrections, notices do not indicate a mistake; readers comparing figures across time need to know about them.

A notice is issued when any of the following occurs:

  • BPLAN geography reload covering a new timetable period
  • Methodology revision (cross-referenced with methodology)
  • Coverage change (new corridor, operator scope change)
  • Schedule 8 rate table update

No notices have been issued.
